By requesting, scheduling, or receiving services from Proctor Electric and Computers ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work performed by Proctor Electric and Computers in the Wilmington, NC area.
Proctor Electric and Computers provides licensed electrical contracting, smart home installation, TV mounting, computer services, and related work. All electrical services are performed under North Carolina Electrical License #27821-L. We reserve the right to decline any project at our discretion, including work we determine to be unsafe or outside our scope of expertise.
We provide free estimates for most projects. Estimates are based on the information available at the time of evaluation and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Final pricing may differ from the estimate if:
We will communicate any pricing changes before proceeding with additional work. Material costs are subject to current supplier pricing at the time of purchase.
We schedule appointments Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We ask that customers provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. We understand that things come up, but repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a service call fee for future appointments. Emergency service may be available outside normal hours at additional cost.
Proctor Electric and Computers stands behind our work. Our labor warranty covers workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion, unless a different warranty period is specified in writing. This warranty covers:
This warranty does not cover:
Proctor Electric and Computers carries general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by North Carolina law. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific project in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of business income, data loss, or damage to equipment not directly connected to our work.
Many electrical projects in New Hanover County and surrounding areas require permits and inspections. When permits are required, Proctor Electric and Computers will pull the necessary permits and schedule inspections with the local authority having jurisdiction. Permit fees are the responsibility of the customer and will be included in the project cost. Customers should be aware that:
Payment is due upon completion of work unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing. For larger projects, we may require a deposit or progress payments. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. A returned check fee of $35 may apply. Accounts past due by more than 30 days may be subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. In the event of non-payment, the customer is responsible for any collection costs and attorney's fees incurred.
Customers are responsible for providing clear and safe access to the work area. We expect a reasonably clean and accessible workspace. If conditions at the job site present safety hazards (structural issues, mold, asbestos, etc.), we may need to pause or decline work until those conditions are addressed. We will make reasonable efforts to protect your property during the course of our work, but minor cosmetic repairs such as drywall patching and paint touch-up after electrical work are the customer's responsibility unless specifically included in the scope of work.
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of New Hanover County, North Carolina.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For active projects, the terms in effect at the time the project was agreed upon will apply.
